What is UP Scholarship 2023 ?

The Uttar Pradesh scholarship is meant for students falling under the huge education system of the northern state, which boasts of more than 2 lakh schools and over 60 universities. Aimed at providing financial support to students at different levels of education in the state, the Uttar Pradesh (UP)  include multiple pre-matric and post-matric schemes for SC / ST / OBC / Minority / General category candidates.

About Scholarship System

A scholarship is a form of financial aid awarded to students for further education. Generally,  are awarded based on a set of criteria such as academic merit, diversity and inclusion, athletic skill, and financial need.

Scholarship criteria usually reflect the values and goals of the donor of the award, and while scholarship recipients are not required to repay scholarships, the awards may require that the recipient continue to meet certain requirements during their period of support, such maintaining a minimum grade point average or engaging in a certain activity (e.g., playing on a school sports team for athletic scholarship holders).

Scholarships also range in generosity; some cover partial tuition, while others offer a ‘full-ride’, covering all tuition, accommodation, housing and others.

Arrangement will also be made to provide SMS facility on the mobile number of the student at the following levels:-

1. By submitting the application form online.
2. On verification / forwarding / cancellation by the educational institution.
3. On generation of freeship card (only for government and government aided institutions)
4. On locking/ accepting/ cancelling the data by the District Social Welfare Officer after the approval of the Scholarship Sanctioning Committee.
5. Remittance of funds to Aadhaar linked bank account.
