Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification of Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Exam 2026 for the recruitment to the 2536 Group C posts in the cadre of Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant and Data Entry Operator in various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals, etc. Minimum educational qualification for these posts is 12th Standard or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or University.

Eligibility Criteria of SSC CHSL Exam

Age Limit

Candidates age must be between 18 to 27 years as on 01st August 2026 i.e. Candidates born not before 02-08-1999 and not later than 01-08-2008 are eligible to apply.

Age Relaxation: The category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below

Educational Qualification

Data Entry Operator (DEO)/ DEO Grade 'A' in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Staff Selection Commission and Ministry of Culture: 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

Other LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade 'A' (except mentioned above): Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

Appearing Candidates: The candidates who have appeared in their 12th Standard or equivalent examination can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification on or before the cut- off date i.e. 07-10-2026.

Scheme of CHSL Examination

Candidates applied online for Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Exam and found eligible will have to appear in Computer Based Examinations to be held in two tiers:

Tier-II

Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Examinations, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.
