Eligibility Criteria of IOCL Apprentice Recruitment

Age Limit: Age of the candidates must be minimum 18 years and maximum age shall be 24 years as on 30th September 2026 for General/EWS candidates.

Age Relaxation: The relaxation of upper age limit for reserved categories are as follows:

Educational Qualification

Trade Apprentice -Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) Discipline - Chemical: 3 years B.Sc (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry)

Trade Apprentice (Boiler) Discipline - Mechanical: 3 years B.Sc (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry)

Technician Apprentice Discipline- Instrumentation: 3 years Diploma in Instrumentation Engg/ Instrumentation & Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engg, / Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.

Selection Process

No written test will be conducted.
Selection will be based on merit, considering the overall percentage of marks obtained in all subjects across all years/semesters of the required qualification.
Candidates applying for apprenticeship training for the first time will be given preference.
In case of a tie, the older candidate will be ranked higher. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with higher Matriculation marks will get preference.
PwBD candidates who received relaxation in qualifying marks will be considered against reserved seats based on merit within their category.
The final engagement will depend on the availability of seats and suitability of candidates. The management may leave seats vacant if suitable or sufficient candidates are not available.
