About the Scheme

The Government of India has mandated that 25% of seats in all recognized private schools be reserved for children from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The aim is to provide free, quality education to children from low‑income families in reputed private institutions from Class 1 to Class 8.

Under this scheme, 35,000 seats are earmarked across 2001‑recognized private schools. Admissions are processed through a computerised lottery system, and the shortlisted list will be published on 20 May 2024.

Educational Qualification
