The Abua Awas Yojana is a Jharkhand government initiative aimed at providing solid three‑room houses to the state’s poor and homeless citizens. Announced by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the 77th Independence Day, the scheme finances construction through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in four installments. The objective is to improve social security and living conditions for BPL families across Jharkhand.
Beneficiaries receive a total subsidy of ₹200,000 per house, disbursed in four stages as construction progresses. The scheme is being rolled out in multiple sessions, with the current (third) session accepting applications from 24 November 2024 to 26 December 2024. Eligible families will receive the completed house by March 2026.
